| We are calling him Roscoe |

We
rescued the little puppy to your left today, February 28, 2010. One of Mark’s co-workers called and told us they had
found a lost puppy wondering around the neighborhood. We have fed him and he is now sleeping on the couch beside Dixie and me. Slowly he
inched closer to her until they were touching and they both fell asleep.
He
is about four months old and appears to be a dachshund mix; His fur is a reddish brown with variances throughout blended smoothly.
He seems friendly, outgoing and playful, however, he snipped at young boy in the neighborhood he came from.

The dog to your right, abandoned in a small, filthy shed was howling on the morning prior to his
rescue. As I was walking three of our dogs, I heard howling and it was coming from a shed behind a house next door to us.
No one was living there and I thought it strange that the neighbor, who no longer lives there, would leave a dog behind, so
I investigated. To my horror, my nostrils filled with the most pungent odor of urine and feces as soon as I cracked the door
open; the door was jammed and opened about six to eight inches. Out comes this emaciated dog, greeting me with all the excitability
in him. I returned his affections, told him it was going to be all right now and I started back to the house as he followed
me. Once on our porch, I gave him fresh water and a bowl of food that he devoured in seconds! You can see the video of him
woofing down the food at the end of his photos to your right.
I then took him to our outdoor kennel to keep him safe and secure and begin our journey together to
mend him. If you are a person with a big heart, dedication and experience, and this friendly boy, named Zeus, is calling out
to you, please contact us at hunneebunn@gmail.com and someone will contact you as soon as possible. Please use RESCUE INTREST as
subject title to expedite response, and thank you for your patience. If no one responds to your email within a couple of days,
please try again, as it may have been lost or ended up in spam.
Our goal with Zeus is to first get him in god health, then provide him with some basic training, and
lastly find him a good home. Because we have limited space for our rescued dogs, we may eventually have to take him to the
local Humane Society once he is suitable for adoption. The sad thing is, once there, he could possibly succumb to euthanizing
if not adopted. We will continue to keep Zeus here as long as possible to greater his chances of adoption and sparing his
life.
Taking care of our animals requires expenses, such as, food (holistic/ homemade), veterinarian’s
office or home visit fees, lab tests, vaccines, parasite prevention,. Our local Humane Society is looking for folks to sponsor
pets at $25 per month if they cannot adopt one but still want to help. Why not sponsor Zeus or Rusty!
